Kwara Football Academy (KFA) is set to embark on a five-day training camp tour to Ilaji Sport Resort in Oyo state from April 5th-9th, 2025. This exciting move comes as the academy intensifies its preparations ahead of the Nigeria Nationwide League One season, which is set to kick off later this month.
A 30-man contingent of players and officials from the Academy will arrive in Ilaji -a town in the suburbs of Ibadan- the capital of Oyo State this weekend .The training camp at Ilaji Sport Resort, one of Africa’s biggest sports resorts, aims to provide the team with top-notch facilities and the perfect environment to fine-tune preparation ahead of the 2025 NLO season. In addition to rigorous training sessions, the team will also engage in a series of tune-up matches against formidable opponents, including Ilaji FC and NPFL side Shooting Stars Sports Club, among others.
The Administrator of the Academy Mal. Ibrahim Bako stated that the choice of Ilaji Sport Resort for the training camp is set to enhance the Academy’s preparations for the Nigeria Nationwide League One season. Mal. Bako emphasized that the decision aligns with the tradition of providing an enabling environment for the players to have the best possible preparation ahead of the new season.
Mal. Ibrahim Bako assured that the Academy is fully committed to providing all the necessary resources and support for the players to excel in the upcoming NLO season. “We will do everything within our means to prepare the team for a successful season ,our goal is to do well and aim for the biggest goal which is a promotion to the second tier (The NNL) and that is why we are setting up the boys to prepare ahead in the best environment” He stated .
Having made their debut in the Nigeria Nationwide League One last year, KFA impressed with a commendable 4th place finish in a group of ten teams in the 2024 Season . The team is now determined to build on their previous success and make an even greater impact in the upcoming season.
